About Me
Aside from being a creative, I am obsessed with outer space. The quickest way to get me to start talking is to ask me about stars and what I think of them. I also love animals and bugs, and always pick up any roly poly I see on campus. I'm looking to learn how to surf, as I love the ocean/beach and want to get more athletic, so if you see a girl with brightly dyed hair falling face first into the waves, it's probably me.
I utilize all of this creative energy into my scientific passion. I have been researching since I was a young girl, attempting to help my mother who suffers from hyperthyroidism, but I didn't get my big break until 11th grade. I got the opportunity to work with an MIT PhD mentor to write my own private research paper on antibiotic resistance, finding novel solutions to this issue. In the future, I plan to receive a PhD in immunology, and work on research dealing directly with autoimmune disease in order to stop these illnesses before they even start.

I'm Samantha Quiñones. I am currently an undergraduate MARC scholar at SDSU majoring in Microbiology, and in Dr. Capelson's Epigenetics and Gene Regulation Lab. Aside from loving research, I am a huge creative.
I'm a singer, both in choir and for fun, and even got to record choir songs at GCU with my high school chorus. I act in theater and am currently trying to get into a short film. I am a big reading and writing enthusiast, so you will most likely catch me reading a new book or writing down my 20th idea for an amazing book series. I love horror, cartoons, webtoons, art, and anime, and am constantly looking for animation or standstill art to engage in.
